This Week's artworks for The Colours of Italy Exhibition

Jeanette Torkelson

American photographer Jeanette Torkelson spent six months studying and living abroad in Perugia and Florence and says she took hundreds of photos. When asked about her experiences in Italy she says 'She can not wait to go back!' If you would like to experience Florence for yourself why not take part in our week long cookery course in Tuscany, where a private excursion to Florence is part of the itinerary!

Daniel Van Benthuysen

This painting from American artist Daniel Van Benthuysen is oil on canvas, titled "Italian Autumn" is a view of the statue of St. Michael the archangel at Castel Sant'Angelo by Raffaello da Montelupo which you can see on our cooking holidays in Rome.

The statue was originally sculpted to commemorate the end of a plague. Daniel painted this colourful oil following an October visit to Italy.

Ann Williams

These pictures were sent in by Ann Williams after she came back from a 'very enjoyable' cooking holiday in Puglia this year.

Colours of Italy Exhibition Announced!

Flavours of Italy is launching a new online art exhibition, ‘Colours of Italy’.

Colours of Italy is an exhibition open to anyone inspired to draw, paint or take photographs by a visit to Italy. We are holding an online exhibition on our blog to showcase talented Flavours of Italy guests!
Please send all your fabulous artworks to
oliver@flavoursholidays.com in .jpeg format and we will showcase them on our blog! The deadline for submissions is the 31st December 2008.
This really is a great chance to share your inspired visions of Italy!
So get to work – who knows you could be made famous by Flavours!
This online show is a preparation for a larger scale event we are planning for the new year, with a ‘offline’ exhibition to be held in Edinburgh.

Already some of our cooking holidays for 2009 are completely sold out! So if you are looking to get away from it all and cook up some delicacies with us then get in touch! Remember our group size is strictly limited to 8, to give you the most intimate and authentic Italian experience, which means we only have limited spaces for 2009.

So be inspired and be creative!

Ciao,

The Flavours Team.
